When the cynicism creeps in,
Insidious and all-consuming,
I am jolted back to reality by the agape’ shared by friends
Who are really family,
Linked together by empathy and an unexpected tragedy.
To share unselfish love with another human being
Is the antidote
To the temporary evils that delude our minds.

"Art for Kathryn" online art auction

by Carola Nix
The "Art for Kathryn" art auction is happening at the Artwork Clearance FB page.

Bid on fantastic, original artwork from dozens of local creatives between now and midnight, Friday, September 30.

100% of all sales will be donated to Kathryn Usher, a Shreveport-based artist, photographer, writer and community advocate. Kathryn's beloved husband and our dear friend, Charles Fontane, passed away suddenly last week.

Kathryn has a moving commentary on her life right now.  It is available for viewing here.

Many thanks to all the artists who have generously donated work.
